Are we excited that today is the last day of school before Thanksgiving Break? Um yes! Even though Hanna and I have so much homework to do over the long weekend (really, teachers?!?) I am so ready to be home for a while. Today, I thought I would share some of my yoga knowledge with you. If you didn’t know this, I take a yoga class two days a week, and I absolutely love it! It complements my running quite well, and is a great way to relax too. So without further ado, grab your yoga mat and lets get going!
If you already know how to do the pose, then great! If not, click on the links below to learn how. You will be a yogi in no time!
It’s officially only 2 days until Thanksgiving Break begins, and only two days until I am reunited with this lovely lady:
My twin is just too cute! 🙂
This weekend has been pretty low key: lots of homework, cleaning, workouts…I am so ready for the madness that is Fall Quarter to be over! However, I did have some excitement yesterday in the form of:
Cake! My lovely bf worked for a cake company, so I convinced him that I needed cake after surviving this week. So we made snickerdoodle cake! I honestly was too busy eating cake batter and frosting to remember the ingredients he used (sorry, no recipe) but know that I enjoyed my cake! #yolo
Yes, I am a college student, and therefore I am too lazy to use a plate to eat off of 😉
What is your favorite type of cake?
It’s official. I am ready for Christmas!
Hot chocolate, cozy fires, taking a few relaxing weeks off of school….I can almost see it! Only a few weeks stand in the way between us and break. In the meantime, I have started thinking about my Christmas list, specifically, my dream fitness Christmas list. Are you listening, Santa? 😉
I need more running tights! It is getting way too cold to wear shorts outside (I come back from runs completely frozen!) and these tights are just perfect!
This Run Happy base layer is just too cute. It’s pink. It’s functional. It’s cute. I want.
I am looking for a headband to run in that actually holds my hair back (Hanna and I both have wild hair). This one is so cute!
As you can see, I am on a Brooks kick right now. Can I just have everything in the store, please? I wish 🙂
What’s on your Christmas List?
It’s been one of those weeks. You know what I mean? Late nights in the computer labs, group projects, papers–so much to do! I am looking on the positive side of things though, as Thanksgiving Break is almost here! I have decided to challenge Hanna and I with a Twin Turkey Trot on Turkey Day…more to come on what that means 😉
Here are some happy highlights from my week!
The lovely remains of my post-workout juice! I call it juice because I was sadly out of frozen fruit (and too lazy to freeze my bananas), so my smoothie was very thin but still amazing. In the mix:
- Water and Almond Milk (I love adding water to smoothies!)
- Protein Powder
- Chocolate Pb2—mmmmmmm!
Such a great combo!
One of my favorite workouts of the week included 30 minutes on the treadmill, then 30 minutes on the bike (I was obviously moving in this picture…). I also used the lat pull down par, free weights and a medicine ball doing Russian Twists to create an awesome workout! Gym tip: Never go to the gym on Mondays! Literally all of campus decides to work off their weekend, so all of the machines are taken. But by Friday, most of the gym has cleared out (sad, but true).
Quality time with Mr. Foam Roller! If you don’t have one already, I would suggest you invest–they are wonderful 🙂
Off to tackle yet another essay 😦 Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
I thought I would start off your Wednesday with some great pics of my eats this week. WARNING: it’s mid-semester paper time which means my photos aren’t the greatest quality.
First up? Crepes! I was supporting a friend who was leading a French Club meeting so, naturally, I had to help her out with eating the crepes that were served 🙂
Awesome use of my leftovers: arugula (it’s been in the fridge for 2 1/2 weeks now, but I just can’t stand to part with it! In the mix: arugula, toasted almond rise (courtesy of Near East), canadian bacon (freeze the big pack from Costco, and pull out as much as needed).
House night in with the roomies! Weird (but oddly good) baked brie and almond appetizers.
Coffee (I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, coffee is its own food group)
Eggs+potatoes+cheese+canadian bacon (also part of the roommate dinner, so don’t worry, I didn’t eat that all myself)
The view. Love this city 🙂
I have a crazy Tuesday, but I wanted to show you my new favorite thing…the Nike Training Club App!
I love the 15 minute workouts they give you, and man are they killer! My abs are sore for DAYS after doing the Core Crunch 🙂
Do you use this app? What are your favorite quick workouts?
Hey everyone! I wanted to check in and share some pictures from my weekend…
Random Lunch: kale chips, rice, and sweet potato! Such a wierd comb0 (I had to clean out the fridge) but it worked!
Selfie Time! I had an interview on Friday, so I had to snap a pic of me getting ready.
Hot apple cider and a book. There is something about a hot drink that makes reading really really boring books for school much more bearable.
If you didn’t know this already, I am obsessed with pigs 🙂 This cute little video from YouTube has been on repeat #piggielove
Have a great Sunday!
