Thursday Thoughts

8 Aug

Hello, all!

Can you believe summer is almost over?  It’s already August, and most of us are either going back to school or at least starting to think about it!  For Thursday Thoughts this week, we are sharing with you some of the resources we have found super helpful in preparing for college.  We like to think of ourselves as “pros” at the whole college thing now, so check out some of our thoughts about managing college life.  Also, check out our post here for more great advice. (Ok, so we’re kind of tooting our own horns here, but we really do love giving advice)!

We use a planner system to keep us on track, so from classes to meetings, we stay on top of things.  Even though we just got iPhones, we still use a paper planner to keep track of what’s due and when.  We can’t stress enough how important prioritizing your projects/homework is so you can maintain your sanity!  Check out some cute planner systems here, here and here.  To keep track of our daily schedules, and when/where we need to be, we use a Google calendar 🙂

Textbooks are so darn expensive, but necessary.  The college bookstore is way overpriced, so look for your books using sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  We have even started renting our textbooks to save money.

Staying healthy in college is hard, especially when the stress kicks in.  Kick junk food cravings by keeping healthy snacks on hand, such as carrot sticks, bell peppers, apples, or other fruits/veggies.  Check out Kenzie’s awesome college grocery shopping list here for ideas!

Lastly, the showers in college dorms are as gross as the rumors tell you.  So do wear flip flops 🙂

OMG showers are the worst! I’m a major hair-o-phobe, and I swear everyone on my floor had long black hair! Flips flops are definitely a must.
