Smoothie, Spin and A Great Weekend!

Hello Friends!

It’s been one of those weeks.  You know what I mean?  Late nights in the computer labs, group projects, papers–so much to do!  I am looking on the positive side of things though, as Thanksgiving Break is almost here!  I have decided to challenge Hanna and I with a Twin Turkey Trot on Turkey Day…more to come on what that means 😉

Here are some happy highlights from my week!

The lovely remains of my post-workout juice!  I call it juice because I was sadly out of frozen fruit (and too lazy to freeze my bananas), so my smoothie was very thin but still amazing.  In the mix:

  • Water and Almond Milk (I love adding water to smoothies!)
  • Protein Powder
  • Chocolate Pb2—mmmmmmm!
  • Banana

One of my favorite workouts of the week included 30 minutes on the treadmill, then 30 minutes on the bike (I was obviously moving in this picture…).  I also used the lat pull down par, free weights and a medicine ball doing Russian Twists to create an awesome workout!  Gym tip:   Never go to the gym on Mondays!  Literally all of campus decides to work off their weekend, so all of the machines are taken.  But by Friday, most of the gym has cleared out (sad, but true).

Quality time with Mr. Foam Roller!  If you don’t have one already, I would suggest you invest–they are wonderful 🙂

Random Dinner Night

The other night, I realized something.

I had absolutely NOTHING left in the fridge. Ok, so maybe that’s a little dramatic. I had ALMOST NOTHING left in the fridge.

My roomate Dorothy and I decided to pool our resources (as true college students do) and create dinner out of thin air…

Home Sweet Home

Hey everyone!

It’s Haley, here for a weekend recap!  I am officially moved into my new apartment (yay!) and now I am preparing for school, which starts on Wednesday.  I can’t believe the school year has begun for us on the quarter system 🙂

College Tip #1:  Shoe organizer=lifesaver!  This is the first room out of my three bedrooms during college that my door can have an over-the-door shoe organizer!  From my heels to the Asics that I will be rockin’ come next Sunday for my HALF MARATHON (could I be any more excited?!?) this is the perfect thing to contain my clutter.

Happy Birthday, Hanna and Haley!

We’re officially 21! It’s hard to believe that only 21 years ago were were so little…

…and now we are juniors in college!

Our birthday plans include hosting a party for our friends at Hanna’s house, complete with cupcakes and panini sandwiches. This will be a memorable night for sure!

Mason Jars make any party fun! Haley decorated these with paint pens, so we can have a unique way to remember celebrating our birthday together.

Cupcake time! Were making cupcakes with homemade frosting for our party guests to enjoy.

We will be checking in next week with more great TwinEats content. With Haley off to school in a week, there is certainly exciting things in our future to share with you.

Oregon Eats!

How is your Wednesday going? We are having a blast here in Oregon! Even though Hanna has school during the week, we are still having fun. By the way, if you didn’t know this yet, we ARE TURNING 21 IN TWO DAYS! We will share our birthday party decorations in a post for you soon–think cupcakes, cute signs and party hats!

Our eats this week consist of yummy homemade meals with the occasional treat when we are out and about. Check it out–we hope you are inspired!

We definitely have an obsession with Nutella, but how could Costco go to such extremes? The nutella jar is as big as I am!! (No, we did not buy it!).

Now, on to our eats from this week!

Garlic! One of our favorite ways to add flavor to our dishes. Garlic infused olive oil is perfect for cooking veggies for a quick stir fry!

Kitchen prep at it’s finest! We bagged up carrot and mixed frozen veggies for quick meal prep later in the week.

1. Who is your healthy living inspiration?

We inspire each other to be the best that we can be, every single day! Whether we are together or apart, we share meal ideas, our fitness plans, and we push each other to the limit so that we can be confident in ourselves and focused on pursuing our dreams.

2. If you could succeed in one thing, what would it be?

That’s a tough one. We both are super focused on our school work, so our goal has always been to succeed academically.

3. Would you rather be always believed or always right?

Always believed. We are both big on being honest and we have been raised to always live a lifestyle that reflects honest behavior. Although, as type-A people, it’s always tough NOT being right, but nobody is perfect! 🙂

4. Do you like wearing matching clothes to workout, or do you just throw on whatever?

Whatever is clean (or semi-clean…)! The idea of matching seems great, but when it comes down to it, we normally are both working out in super clashing colors and mismatched socks. #YOLO

5. What’s your go-to fitness routine?

Hanna–A public relations professional in the tech industry

Haley–An advisory professional at an accounting firm

8. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

We love the idea of travel, and would love to do so while we are young. Some exotic place like the Bahamas would be nice to travel to, before we become “real working girls”.

9. What’s the biggest healthy living tip you would give to someone?

Haley says: Never give up! Even if you don’t think you are seeing results right away, they will come! Just believe in yourself, stay committed to your goals, and don’t let anything or anyone stop you.

10. What’s a random fact about you?

Hanna can do this random raising of one eyebrow thing. It is absolutely hilarious and makes anyone smile. Exhibit A:
